Machine Operator (Mechanically Inclined)

Location: Somerset, NJ
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary (3-Month Project)

Job Summary

Our client, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions, is seeking a Mechanically Inclined Machine Operator for a 3-month temporary project in Somerset, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manufacturing equipment, performing machine setups, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to maintain efficient production.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery.
Perform machine adjustments, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
Monitor product quality and make necessary machine adjustments.
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
Report equipment issues to the maintenance team as needed.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with material handling and production support as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with machine setup and changeovers.
Ability to read work instructions and use measuring tools.
Basic math and documentation skills.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Comfortable working around production machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Position Details

3-month temporary assignment
Monday–Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
