Waev Inc. is an electric mobility OEM founded in 2021 to manufacture, distribute, market, and support the GEM, Taylor-Dunn and Tiger brands. GEM was the first commercially-produced, street-legal low-speed vehicle in the United States. GEMs shuttle people and goods across city centers, residential communities, government campuses, colleges and universities, and other micro-environments. Founded in 1949, Taylor-Dunn burden carriers, personnel carriers, and stockchasers have been trusted solutions in a broad range of commercial environments and provide premium reliability, safety features, and all-electric efficiency for industrial grade applications. Tiger heavy-duty tow tractors have been towing cargo, baggage, parcel, and other equipment in ground support applications since 1981. Waev's headquarters and factory are located in Anaheim, California. Job Summary The Buyer is responsible for purchasing parts, materials, and components to support Waev's manufacturing operations. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role requiring someone who can effectively manage multiple parts, suppliers, purchase orders, and competing priorities. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and has a strong sense of urgency. They are comfortable negotiating with suppliers, pushing back when necessary, resolving shortages, and taking ownership of issues that could impact production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

Purchase parts, materials, and components to support daily manufacturing and production needs, including creating and managing multiple POs daily. Manage a high volume of parts, suppliers, and open orders while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Monitor supplier performance and proactively follow up on orders, lead times, and deliveries to keep materials moving. Identify and resolve shortages, delays, and supply issues quickly to minimize impact to production. Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Inventory, and other teams to prioritize material needs and support production schedules. Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and other supplier requirements, while confidently pushing back when necessary. Source new suppliers and alternative materials as needed; obtain and evaluate quotes based on cost, quality, availability, and lead time. Identify and support cost savings and supplier improvement opportunities. Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP/MRP system and resolve PO, pricing, quantity, delivery, and invoice discrepancies. Build strong vendor relationships while maintaining accountability, urgency, and follow-through.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, buying, or relevant manufacturing experience. Experience managing a high volume of parts, POs, and suppliers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes. Experience with supplier negotiations, materials planning, or sourcing preferred.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills , with the confidence to push back and hold suppliers accountable. Strong sense of urgency , with the ability to respond quickly to production needs and resolve shortages. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented with a positive, high-energy approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams. Ability to creatively source alternate suppliers and materials when needed. Ability to professionally represent Waev while developing productive working relationships with suppliers. Ability to analyze pricing and identify cost savings opportunities . Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, drawings, and technical data. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
