Part-Time Project READ Site Coordinator

Part‑Time Project READ Site Coordinator Hourly Rate: $23.22 This position is an on‑site, part‑time, up to 19‑hour appointment based in Champaign County, Illinois. The Project READ Site Coordinator supports the Illinois Secretary of State’s Adult Volunteer Literacy program, Project READ. The coordinator will focus on providing support and assistance to volunteer tutors and students. The coordinator must work independently, collaboratively, and accurately to prioritize tasks and responsibilities. Applications accepted until the position is filled. Essential Job Functions Recruit volunteer tutors and students Assist with intake and testing of new students Provide program orientation to volunteers Provide ongoing tutor/student support Assist with tutor training Assist in making appropriate placements and matches Assist in identifying learners ready to transition into Adult Education and/or other Parkland College programming Collect tutor/student data and submit to program assistant for data entry Coordinate with Program Manager for tutor/student recognition events Prepare and distribute quarterly newsletter to tutors and community partners Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in education or related field Experience working with adults and volunteers Understanding of grant‑funded programs Excellent record‑keeping and communication skills Functional ability with Microsoft Office Suite Successful completion of a post‑offer, pre‑employment criminal background check with fingerprinting.
