Field Sales Representative

Role Description The Field Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in VA. This position is responsible for engaging directly with residential and small business customers to present energy solutions, explain benefits, and guide them through the enrollment or purchase process. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting in designated territories, conducting in-person consultations, delivering clear product and pricing information, and following up on leads to close sales. The role involves maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities, collaborating with teammates and supervisors to meet individual and team targets, and participating in ongoing training to stay current on product offerings and energy programs. The Field Sales Representative is expected to represent Smart Energy Alliance professionally in the community, provide excellent customer service, and consistently work toward meeting and exceeding sales goals. Qualifications Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly with diverse customers. Sales and negotiation abilities, including experience meeting targets, handling objections, and closing in-person sales. Basic knowledge or interest in energy, utilities, or home services, and willingness to learn about renewable and efficiency solutions. Organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple appointments, leads, and follow-ups. Comfort working on-site and in the field, including going door-to-door or visiting customer locations within VA. Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., CRM systems, email, mobile apps) to log activities and manage customer information. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team and receiving coaching and feedback. High school diploma or equivalent required; prior field sales or face-to-face customer experience is strongly preferred.
