Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 10 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x10hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a high-acuity, teaching hospital cath lab requiring advanced interventional skills and a VA or compact RN license.Details\n \n Works in a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15-20 adult patients\n Cath lab performs diagnostic and interventional procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip\n Uses specialized equipment including IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS\n Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and ASD/PFO closures\n Advanced procedures performed include left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, and renal denervation\n Epic charting required\n Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:30a-6p) with on-call requirements\n Must take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6-week period, including one full weekend call block (Fri-Sun) and one Saturday elective case shift\n Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call\n 13-week assignment length, up to 26 weeks available by request\n Requirements\n \n Active VA or compact RN license (in hand or pending, with emergency authorization available while permanent license processes)\n BLS and ACLS certification required; CCI RCIS certification preferred\n Minimum 2 years of experience required, 3+ years preferred\n 1:1 patient ratio experience required\n Prior travel nursing experience required\n Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip\n Scrub experience required\n Proficient in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition/interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols\n Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy required\n Knowledgeable in isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management\n Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Level I/II trauma experience preferred\n Epic charting experience required\n Additional Information\n \n Position is part of a nationally recognized cardiac cath lab program with ACC accreditation for PCI procedures\n Supports a multidisciplinary team with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs\n Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff\n Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period\n First-time travelers are not accepted for this role\n Local candidates within 100 miles (measured from driver's license address) are not accepted, with limited exceptions for certain inpatient RN and RRT roles at reduced eligibility\n Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler\n Travelers who have completed 365 days on assignment are not eligible to return, subject to leadership review for exceptions\n All RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751968.
