Staff Software Engineer - CI, Build & Release

Salary: $162,000 - 243,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, plus 4 years of experience in hardware, software, systems engineering, or a related role; or a masters degree plus 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of software, DevOps, or release engineering experience; or a masters degree plus 6 years of experience.
• We need expert-level Python and Bash scripting skills.
• We need hands-on experience integrating an AI coding assistant such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex into CI or development workflows.
• We need strong experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar tools.
• We need solid Git-based source control workflow experience.
• We need proven ownership of build, release, and deployment pipelines in a multi-platform environment.
• We need experience using JIRA or a similar system for defect tracking and sprint triage.
• We need effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Preferred experience includes ML framework build systems such as ONNX Runtime, ExecuTorch, or TFLite / LiteRT.
• Preferred experience includes C/C++ build and debugging tools such as CMake or Bazel.
• Preferred experience includes Android NDK, cross-compilation, and release packaging tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Preferred experience includes Windows CI/CD pipelines and Windows ARM64 build toolchains.

• Preferred experience includes knowledge of deep learning inference pipelines and on-device performance profiling.

• We own the CI, build, and release infrastructure for the Delegates portfolio, including ONNX Runtime, ExecuTorch, and TFLite / LiteRT.
• We design, maintain, and evolve multi-platform CI pipelines across Linux, Windows, and Android targets.
• We maintain hermetic, reproducible build recipes and toolchains, including cross-platform dependency and version management.
• We integrate hardware-in-the-loop and on-device automated testing into CI workflows for Snapdragon SoC validation at scale.
• We embed AI-assisted tools into CI and developer workflows to improve team productivity.
• We own the end-to-end release pipeline, including versioning, artifact packaging, signed binary distribution, and release gate criteria.
• We define and enforce automated quality gates such as regression benchmarks, performance thresholds, and op-coverage checks aligned with upstream release cadences.
• We coordinate SDK artifact delivery with the QAIRT SDK release train and downstream ISV partners.
• We partner with delegate engineers to build automated functional, performance, and regression test suites.
• We develop dashboards and alerting for build health, test pass rates, and performance trends.
• We integrate with JIRA for automated defect tracking and release readiness reporting.
• We streamline inner-loop workflows with local build scripts, container images, pre-commit hooks, and environment bootstrapping that mirror CI behavior.
• We maintain CI runbooks and documentation for a globally distributed team.
• We align CI and build infrastructure with Qualcomm corporate tooling standards.
• We coordinate with upstream open-source communities to track breaking changes and contribute automation improvements back upstream.
