Controls and Instrumentation Engineer Hiring Department: Texas Institute for Electronics Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS Purpose The Controls and Instrumentation Engineer helps with development efforts related to semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes that will define the future roadmaps of semiconductor logic, memory, heterogeneous integration, and chip cooling. Responsibilities Contribute to controls, instrumentation, custom circuit design, and fabrication for novel semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Assist in researching and procuring various equipment sub-systems. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines. Two years of experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines. Goal-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines. Experience working in a research or start-up environment. Prior experience in nanofabrication, precision machine design, mechatronics, systems and controls, instrumentation, or optical systems design. Salary Range TIE pays industry competitive salaries. Working Conditions Work is performed on-site in a scientific research environment with dynamic work conditions and frequent interruptions. Work outside standard office hours may be required on an occasional basis during peak periods and special events.
