Emergency Center Registered NurseAbout the unitTaylor is a 22 bed Emergency Center and Level IV Trauma Center. Our Emergency Center services a diverse patient population from both Oakland, Monroe, and Wayne County. Our leadership model is Servant Leadership. The Taylor EC has self-scheduling and an engaged staff that is empowered to make changes. Additionally, we value strong collaboration with our providers and ancillary departments.About Taylor HospitalA Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).Scope of workThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.QualificationsAssociates or Diploma in Nursing RequiredBachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experienceGraduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examinationMI Registered Nurse (RN) RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer. TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer. ENPC within 15 months of hire/transferSpecialty Certification highly recommended within 2 yearsPrefer RN experience.
