Tasting Room Server – Part Time

Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country. Known for quality wines and warm hospitality, Wilson Creek offers a welcoming tasting room, restaurant, events, weddings, and guest accommodations.

We are looking for a Part-Time Tasting Room Server to join our team in Temecula, California.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Tasting Room Server provides an exceptional guest experience through knowledgeable wine service, hospitality, and sales. This position is responsible for conducting wine tastings, educating guests about Wilson Creek wines, promoting wine club memberships and products, and ensuring responsible alcohol service.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, on-site position. The schedule will vary based on business needs and may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, responsive, and professional service to all guests.
• Conduct wine tastings and educate guests about Wilson Creek wines and products.
• Develop rapport with guests and provide a welcoming tasting room experience.
• Promote and sell wine club memberships, wine, merchandise, and other winery offerings.
• Maintain current knowledge of wines, tasting selections, promotions, and winery offerings.
• Follow all applicable alcohol beverage service requirements and Company policies.
• Verify identification and serve alcoholic beverages responsibly in accordance with applicable laws and Company procedures.
• Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow Company policies, procedures, service standards, and training requirements.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Previous wine, hospitality, restaurant, tasting room, or customer service experience preferred.
• Wine knowledge and an interest in continuing to learn about wine.
• Strong guest service, communication, and sales skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to perform basic math and accurately operate a POS system.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler Certificate as required for the position.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within 60 days of employment, unless already certified.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as needed.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently use hands and arms, reach, bend, and perform repetitive movements associated with wine and food service. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position primarily works in a tasting room and hospitality environment and may involve exposure to moderate to high noise levels, large groups of guests, crowded work areas, wet or slippery floors, broken glass, cleaning products, alcoholic beverages, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures.

The position requires frequent interaction with guests and coworkers and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
