Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse is a licensed Registered Nurse responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care within a Medical Surgical unit. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process, assessment, and evidence-based practices in accordance with organizational standards.
• Assess and prioritize patient needs, utilizing critical thinking to manage care effectively across the shift.
• Educate patients and families about their health conditions, care plans, and discharge instructions to support their understanding and engagement.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
• Implement quality and safety protocols, identifying and escalating barriers to high-quality care.
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, ensuring resource availability and efficient unit operations.

Qualifications:

• Current NYS RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience.
• EPIC experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience or ongoing BSN studies.
• Must have at least 1 year of travel nursing experience for travel roles.
