Family Engagement Coordinator Full-Time | APA Launch Pad | Anderson, IN Reggio Emilia-Inspired Early Childhood Program Position Overview APA Launch Pad is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator to serve as the second-in-command to the Director of Early Learning and a key member of the program's leadership team. This position works alongside the Director to support the day-to-day operation of Launch Pad, providing leadership and support to children, families, teachers, and classrooms. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines program operations, family engagement, enrollment, community partnerships, staff and classroom support, and special projects. The coordinator should be comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, managing competing priorities, and following responsibilities through to completion. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, dependable, relationship-centered, and able to make appropriate decisions independently while knowing when to involve the Director. We work alongside families as partners and believe strong relationships and community connections are an essential part of children's learning and development. Key Responsibilities Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families and serve as a consistent point of contact for family questions and support. Lead family engagement opportunities including Family Learning Parties, family events, Community Council, and other co-learning experiences. Recruit and enroll new families through community outreach, prospective family follow-up, tours, intake, and enrollment support. Maintain accurate and organized records of prospective families, enrollment activity, family communication, referrals, and outreach. Develop relationships with local organizations and community partners that can support families and strengthen enrollment opportunities. Connect families with appropriate community resources and follow up when additional support is needed. Support family retention by monitoring engagement, responding to concerns, gathering feedback, and identifying ways to strengthen families' connection to Launch Pad. Work collaboratively with teachers and leadership to ensure families are included in their child's learning and classroom experiences. Provide hands‑on support in classrooms and throughout the program when needed, including transitions, meals, outdoor supervision, routines, and other daily operational needs. Track enrollment, recruitment, family engagement, and event participation data and communicate trends and updates to the Director. Take ownership of assigned projects, meet deadlines, communicate barriers, and follow responsibilities through to completion. Represent APA Launch Pad professionally within the school and broader community. Assist the Director with coaching and developing the classroom teachers. Assist the Director with implementing solutions when classroom or programs needs are identified. Qualifications Required: Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Communications, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Ability to build positive relationships with families, staff, children, and community partners. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through. Comfort using email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite, and willing to learn new databases. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Preferred: Experience working with children, families, schools, community organizations, or in a related field. Experience in early childhood education, family engagement, enrollment, recruitment, or community outreach. Experience coordinating family events or educational programs. Familiarity with CCDF or other early childhood funding programs. Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia Approach or another child-centered educational philosophy.
