TravelNurseSource is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Topeka, Kansas, 66601!

7pm -7am, 36hrs or 48hrs
Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend. Holiday Rotation : Holiday RTO Policy : HCP may request 1 holiday off. Yes; 2 federal holidays/yr; 1 spring and 2 winter non-essential holidays
On Call/Call Back Requirements : N/A. Facility has a 3-strike call-in policy (case by case basis).

Requirements

Certifications : AHA BLS required at time of submission.
License :KS or Multistate license. No Hits allowed, no exceptions. Note - all required certs and licensure must be added at time of submission.
No first-time travelers. Local travelers accepted 
Education : ADN or BSN.
Minimum Experience : 1-year Medical Surgical experience required. Progressive care/step down experience is an added bonus.
Charting System : Epic (test out option available).
Float Requirements : Yes; other post-surgical floors and other med surg inpatient floors. 

Unit/Department : 7 South -- Post-Surgical: Abdominal/Colorectal. 

Unit Overview : 32 bed unit that cares for colorectal surgery & other major abdominal surgeries (colectomy, bowel resection, ostomy, hernia repair), urological procedures (TURP, kidney stones, prostatectomy), orthopedic surgery (hip fx, ankle fx, amputations), plastic surgery (debridements), specialty wound care & surgical drains. Staffing Ratios : 1:6. Support Staff: Patient Care Techs, Patient Safety Monitor who sit with patient, Care team partner (staff helping with other care activities), IV therapy/vascular access team, Rapid Response team, Wound therapy team, Charge nurses, and Nurse Managers, Quality Managers. Scrub Color : Navy. Jewelry and Body Adornment Policy: Allowed; visible tattoos are permitted, provided they are not offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate for a professional setting. Piercings (facial/ear) are acceptable as long as they do not interfere with job duties & maintain a professional appearance
