Behavior Technician (BT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Type Full‑time, Non‑Exempt Position Summary We’re building a leading teaching hospital for pediatric therapy by driving excellence in outcomes, developing clinicians, and building payer trust. This role is a Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist providing life‑changing ABA therapy to children aged 2‑12 with autism or other developmental and language delays. You’ll use natural play and teach foundational skills such as self‑advocacy and communication, working one‑on‑one with clients. Responsibilities Conduct 1:1 therapy sessions with clients. Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plans. Collect and record data, and write therapy notes for each session. Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding the client’s progress (in guidance of the BCBA). Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials. Maintain and acquire functional and technical knowledge by attending required trainings. Follow the guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Work toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), if not one already. Foster a positive working environment. Requirements – Basic & Essential Functions Must be able to lift and carry clients who are at least 30 pounds. Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport with quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan. Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending for extended periods. Must be able to walk and run to chase clients and maintain a three‑foot distance at all times. Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods. Must be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing. Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection. Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication on computer, electronic devices, or paper. Must be able to translate written data to electronic files or database systems. Must be able to maintain prolonged periods working on a computer while at a desk or on the floor. Must be able to assemble, clean, and maintain therapy space including toys and furniture. Must be able to administer medication to clients. Requirements – Job Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (College degree preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Detail oriented. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the team and clients. Ability to act with integrity and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children ages 2‑12 in a classroom, day care, 1:1 setting, or instructional childcare setting. Experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational or Allied Health.
