About the Position

Job Title: Mother-Baby Unit Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum, preferably in larger facilities License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience with antepartum and postpartum patients - Ability to take postpartum patients receiving magnesium sulfate infusions for pre-eclampsia - Experience with fetal heart tones and non-stress tests (NST) once per shift Description: This position requires a registered nurse with experience in mother-baby and couplet care. The nurse will primarily work with antepartum and postpartum patients. Candidates should be comfortable floating to take medical-surgical patients, if necessary. The role includes administering care for neonates and their mothers during the postpartum period. Familiarity with breastfeeding protocols, discharge teaching, and postpartum hemorrhage management is essential. The nurse will be involved in care routines that include monitoring fetal heart tones and maternal vital signs. The patient ratio during shifts will be 3-4 couplets. This position will require weekend shifts, typically 3-4 weekend shifts per every four-week schedule. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and support new parents. Experience with medical records and charting systems is preferred, specifically with relevant software. The work environment is a fast-paced unit where teamwork and collaboration among staff members are essential for optimal patient care.
