Key Qualifications for this position:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Certified as a Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A)
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is a plus
• Strong grasp of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Sound understanding of insurance billing and coding practices
• Exceptional attention to detail and numerical acumen
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work independently with integrity and professionalism

Core responsibilities include:

• Reviewing electronic and paper health records for accuracy and completeness
• Cross-referencing procedure and diagnosis codes with documentation
• Verifying all billing information meets legal and compliance standards
• Inspecting records for signatures, patient details, and documentation accuracy
• Performing pre-claim edits and correcting identified errors
• Analyzing records to ensure consistency and adherence to protocols
• Assisting with administrative tasks as needed to support the team
