Description

American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for an inpatient psychiatric unit requiring at least one year of inpatient psych experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Behavioral Health unit with adult, geriatric, and pediatric (ages 5-17) populations across 104 beds in five units
• Two 24-bed adult units, one 24-bed geriatric unit, and a 12-bed pediatric unit
• Variable patient ratios of approximately 1:8, with lower ratios on geriatric and pediatric units
• Evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend rotation as needed
• Floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner EHR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• HWC certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting required
• Graduate of an accredited BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma program
• Must be willing to care for both adult and pediatric patients
• Experience with schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety diagnoses preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and coworkers
• Participate in discharge planning
• Biweekly orientation held on Tuesdays
• Blue scrub color required
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
