Manager, Energy Systems & Projects

Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 per year

We are seeking a Manager of Energy Systems & Projects to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of energy efficiency and clean energy capital projects across a large facilities portfolio. This role plays a critical part in reducing energy consumption, lowering operating costs, and supporting long-term sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring experience managing performance-based energy projects, coordinating with engineering and ESCO partners, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Energy Performance Contract Management

• Manage energy infrastructure projects delivered through Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and related procurement models
• Oversee relationships with ESCO partners such as Ameresco, Trane, and Honeywell
• Ensure successful implementation of energy conservation measures including HVAC upgrades, lighting retrofits, and control system improvements

Measurement and Verification

• Coordinate project savings verification and ongoing performance monitoring
• Develop and maintain Measurement and Verification frameworks and reporting
• Ensure contracted energy savings targets are documented, tracked, and achieved

Clean Energy Project Development

• Manage renewable energy and electrification initiatives including solar installations and electric vehicle charging infrastructure
• Coordinate with utility partners such as Florida Power & Light on infrastructure requirements
• Support delivery of projects including solar structures and electric bus charging systems
• Lead lifecycle planning for HVAC systems, controls, and other energy infrastructure

Grant and Funding Programs

• Support implementation of federally funded energy and infrastructure projects
• Assist with compliance, reporting, and coordination for grant-funded initiatives
• Evaluate new funding opportunities including federal incentives and clean energy financing programs

Energy Procurement Strategy

• Assess opportunities to expand ESPC and performance contracting models
• Evaluate emerging procurement approaches such as Energy‑as‑a‑Service and alternative financing structures
• Support long-term planning for energy infrastructure investments

Project Coordination

• Partner with Capital Construction teams during implementation and closeout
• Manage project schedules, vendor deliverables, and technical documentation
• Identify and apply for available energy rebates and incentives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, energy management, or a related field
• Experience managing energy efficiency or infrastructure projects across large facilities portfolios
• Working knowledge of performance contracting, energy conservation measures, and clean energy technologies
• Familiarity with grant-funded projects and public-sector procurement processes
• Strong project management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
