Job Overview A law firm seeks a Healthcare Regulatory Associate in San Diego to join its healthcare regulatory team. This role offers the opportunity to work on health innovation, representing companies from pre‑formation to capital markets, including public health tech companies. Duties Advise on healthcare regulatory issues, including corporate practice of medicine and state law considerations for multi‑state digital health practices. Provide guidance on federal, commercial, and self‑insured payor reimbursement. Address value‑based care and accountable care organizations. Navigate fraud and abuse laws, including Anti‑Kickback Statute, Stark law, and False Claims Act. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state health privacy laws. Advise on federal and state laws governing health data exchange and interoperability. Consult on state healthcare transaction notification laws and Knox‑Keene. Address state laws relating to the use of AI in healthcare. Requirements 2‑4 years of experience in healthcare law. Strong interest in technology use in healthcare, including AI, telehealth, and health apps. Strong writing and analytical skills. Superior organizational and project management skills. Detail‑oriented with good judgment. Client service‑oriented. Willingness to travel periodically to client events and healthcare conferences. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Skills Ability to learn new issues quickly. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
