Chief Financial Officer ( Private Family Office)

The CFO will serve as the principal's senior financial executive and strategic partner, with direct oversight of the family office's accounting, treasury, reporting, and investment operations. Given the principal's private equity orientation, this role requires fluency in fund structures, direct deal mechanics, and portfolio-level financial oversight — not just traditional family office accounting. The CFO will be the connective tissue between the investment side of the office and its financial/operational infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight & Reporting — Own consolidated financial reporting across the family's investment entities, holding companies, and personal balance sheet. Deliver monthly/quarterly reporting on portfolio performance, liquidity position, and capital commitments to the principal.
• Private Equity & Direct Investment Support — Track capital calls, distributions, and carried interest across fund investments; support due diligence and financial modeling for direct/co-investment opportunities; monitor portfolio company performance and maintain investment-level books and records.
• Treasury & Liquidity Management — Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning across a complex, illiquid-heavy asset base; coordinate capital call funding and distribution waterfalls; manage banking and lending relationships, including subscription lines and personal credit facilities.
• Entity & Structure Management — Oversee multi-entity accounting across LPs, LLCs, trusts, and holding structures used for fund investments and direct deals; ensure appropriate books and records are maintained for each vehicle.
• Tax & Estate Coordination — Partner with outside tax counsel and CPAs on entity-level and personal tax planning, K-1 review and coordination, and structuring for new investments; support estate and wealth transfer planning in coordination with outside counsel.
• Investment Operations — Build and maintain systems/processes for tracking commitments, unfunded liabilities, and performance across a fund and direct investment portfolio; evaluate and implement reporting/portfolio management technology as needed.
• Team & Advisor Management — Manage internal finance/accounting staff and serve as primary relationship owner for external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
• Strategic Advisory — Act as a trusted sounding board to the principal on new investment opportunities, capital allocation decisions, and overall balance sheet strategy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with meaningful exposure to private equity — either within a family office managing PE/direct investments, a PE fund's finance function, or a fund administrator/institutional investor role.
• Strong working knowledge of fund structures, capital call/distribution mechanics, carried interest, and direct/co-investment deal flow.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidated reporting across LPs, LLCs, and holding company structures.
