Novella is the first AI native insurance brokerage protecting some of the largest, most complicated physical assets in the world. Whether it's sky scrapers on the Miami coast exposed to hurricanes, or rockets going to Mars - Novella's specialty AI agents are trained to help insurance brokers find coverage for their highest-risk customers.
These high-risk customers are part of a $150 Billion per year market segment called Excess and Surplus (E&S) Insurance. Today, all $150B of E&S premium is sold manually by humans working with humans. Novella is the first brokerage building AI agents that can augment humans and superpower them.We're building a world class team with backgrounds in AI and insurance, who are excited about making insurance brokers 100X better at their jobs.
The Role We're seeking a Head of Growth to get Novella in front of 30,000 independent insurance agencies and onto their desks as their go-to wholesale partner. This isn't a traditional marketing or business development role - it's a creative growth role. We need someone who can blend traditional channels like events, PPC, and industry conferences with scrappy, unconventional tactics that get eyeballs on Novella fast. The ideal candidate has gotten a financial product into the hands of tens of thousands of brokers before. You know what it takes to reach a fragmented, relationship-driven market at scale and you've done it by experimenting relentlessly, doubling down on what works, and killing what doesn't fast. You don't wait for permission or process. You move fast, try things, measure results, and iterate. This role is for someone who thinks like a founder. You'll have significant autonomy to build the growth engine from scratch. Some weeks that might mean running a targeted direct mail campaign; other weeks you're standing up a webinar series, testing a viral referral program, or figuring out how to get Novella mentioned in every insurance subreddit and Facebook group in the country. - Own the goal of getting 30,000 independent insurance agencies onto the Novella platform - by whatever means necessary.
- Build Novella's broker acquisition strategy with the founders and execute on it immediately.
- Design and execute creative growth experiments across paid, organic, community, events, partnerships, and channels nobody has tried yet.
- Run traditional marketing programs - PPC, SEO, email campaigns, industry events, conference sponsorships - and make them work harder than they do for anyone else.
- Build and manage a growth dashboard tracking acquisition, activation, and engagement metrics across all channels.
- Develop creative outreach strategies that cut through the noise in a market saturated with wholesaler pitches.
- Work with our brokerage team to understand what resonates with retail agents and turn those insights into growth tactics.
- Test, measure, and iterate at high velocity. Kill experiments that don't work quickly and scale the ones that do.
- Build Novella's brand in the independent agency community as the wholesaler that actually makes their lives easier.
- 6+ years in growth, marketing, or distribution with proven experience getting a financial product or platform adopted by tens of thousands of intermediaries or SMBs.
- A portfolio of creative growth wins - you can point to campaigns or experiments that drove outsized results through unconventional thinking.
- Experience blending traditional marketing (events, PPC, content) with creative guerrilla tactics.
- Data-driven but not paralyzed by data. You measure everything but move fast on intuition when the data isn't there yet.
- Highly autonomous - you don't need someone to tell you what to do next. You see the goal and figure out how to get there.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and allergic to unnecessary process. You'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission.
- Insurance or financial services distribution experience is a plus but not required - what matters is that you've scaled adoption in a fragmented, intermediary-driven market.
