Anesthesiologist

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join their team in Cumberland, MD. This role involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases within a supportive care team model. • UPMC Western Maryland is a voluntary nonprofit, short term acute care hospital with 240 Medicare certified beds.
• Provides healthcare services for residents in Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland and surrounding counties in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
• Cases include Ortho, General, Neuro, and GYN.
• Strong team of Anesthesiologists and CRNA's that work together seamlessly.
• The facility offers a variety of cases for providers to keep their skills up.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

• Salary: $625,000
• Cardiac Stipend: $25,000
• Sign-on Incentives (Bonus with/without retention, Training Assistance, or Loan Repayment): $75,000

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
