Accounting Manager

Client Overview:

Our client is a growing real estate investment and property management organization with a diverse portfolio of assets. The company is focused on operational excellence, strategic growth, and maintaining strong financial performance across their real estate portfolio. They are currently looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join a collaborative Finance team and contribute to the continued success of a growing real estate business.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$110k - $140k + Bonus

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support the monthly close process, and assist with financial reporting activities. This Accounting Manager will partner with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support various finance initiatives. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting the accounting function of a growing real estate organization.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax providers.
• Assist with maintaining internal controls and accounting policies.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
• Partner with various departments on accounting and finance-related matters.
• The Accounting Manager will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting leadership role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience participating in month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:

• Real estate, property management, commercial real estate, or related industry experience.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
• Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
• CPA or CPA-track is preferred.
• Experience with process improvements and system implementations.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
