Learning and Development Manager

This role is an entrepreneurial and dynamic Learning & Development Manager responsible for building the learning function from the ground up. As a newly created position within a fast-growing organization, the L&D Manager will define, design, and launch the foundational learning strategy, programs, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can fluidly move between strategic planning and hands-on execution, serving as both architect and practitioner to rapidly scale organizational capability. L&D Architect & Strategist : Partner closely with leadership and HR to rapidly define our core learning philosophy and build a multi-year L&D roadmap that directly supports hyper-growth and organizational scalability. Infrastructure Implementation : Select, implement, and configure foundational L&D technologies, including choosing and launching our first Learning Management System (LMS) and necessary content creation tools. Foundational Content Creation : Rapidly design, develop, and deliver initial critical learning paths, starting with a best-in-class, scalable new hire onboarding experience and essential compliance training. Gap Analysis & Prioritization : Conduct immediate needs assessments across all departments to identify and prioritize the most urgent skill gaps hindering growth, then build rapid-response training solutions. Operational Execution : Wear multiple hats: facilitate workshops, project manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage all L&D logistics with high efficiency and low overhead. Data & Iteration : Establish initial metrics for success (e.g., time to productivity, retention rates) and use a highly iterative approach to quickly refine programs based on immediate feedback and business needs. What You’ll Bring Experience : 5+ years of experience in an L&D or HR role, with demonstrable experience in setting up new processes, systems, or functions from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment. Growth Mindset : A high tolerance for ambiguity and change. Must be a self-directed problem solver who can operate effectively without an established playbook or large team support. Technical Acumen : Hands‑on experience implementing L&D tech stack elements (LMS selection/admin, e‑learning software like Articulate/Canva for training, etc.). Communication : Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with diverse, fast‑moving teams and influence stakeholders without formal authority. Project Management : Stellar organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high‑priority projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. Experience supporting learning and development programs in the accounting, tax, legal or other highly regulated professional services environment. Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience in a B2B SaaS, Tech, or a similarly fast‑scaling industry.
