Local Delivery Driver (Class A w/Airbrakes & Hazmat)

Overview Local Delivery Driver (Class A with Airbrakes & Hazmat) – La Porte, TX (Open). Responsibilities Cylinder Handling : Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations. Record Keeping : Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest; obtain customer signatures for receipt; collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them for refilling. Safety and Compliance : Adhere to Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations (DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, OSHA). Warehouse Support : Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed. Required Qualifications Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License. Valid Medical Examiner's Card. Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications. Must have one (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years with a clean driving record (no more than two (2) convictions), or two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; or a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years. Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or provide proof of a trucking school completion certificate within the last 12 months. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to obtain site-specific certifications. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with assistance. Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is required. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish (fluent in speaking, reading, and writing).
