AP Specialist

We are seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our team in Clay Center, Kansas. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, this role processes vendor invoices and payments, maintains vendor records, reconciles accounts payable balances, and resolves discrepancies with vendors and internal teams. The successful candidate will be accurate, organized, collaborative, and attentive to detail. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor master data, including payment terms, tax information, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare vendor payment runs and complete weekly and monthly accounts payable reconciliations and reporting.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and work with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Process employee expense reports and other payment requests in accordance with company policies.
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• At least three years of accounting or finance experience within manufacturing.
• Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is desirable.
