Clinical Dietitian - Inpatient Psychiatric Pay: $38.00 – $42.00 per hour (varies by experience) Location: Weston, WV 26452 Schedule: Monday through Friday, minimum 40 hours per week; minimum 2 days per week on-site (8 hours each), remaining hours off-site as needed Start: Anticipated June 2026 (pending contract award) Duration: 1-year contract with up to three (3) one-year extensions Job Type: Contract (local and travel candidates welcome) Pay Frequency: Weekly pay About the Role ShareSTAFF is hiring a Clinical Dietitian for inpatient psychiatric consulting assignments at a state inpatient psychiatric hospital in Weston, WV. In this role, you will provide medical nutrition therapy and clinical dietetic services to adult psychiatric inpatients, working closely with the Director of Dietary Services to coordinate therapeutic diet management, complete nutritional assessments, and support the multidisciplinary treatment team. The schedule combines on-site clinical work with off-site documentation and consultation flexibility, supporting a balanced workflow across nutrition assessment, chart review, treatment team coordination, and staff in-service. This is a longer-term opportunity with strong extension potential. What We Offer Weekly pay - every week, on time Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance for eligible employees Tax-free housing and meal stipends for travel assignments Travel reimbursement Referral bonuses - earn extra when you refer a fellow healthcare professional Dedicated recruiter support before, during, and after your assignment Extension opportunities and access to new assignments nationwide What You'll Do Complete nutritional assessments on all new admissions within seven (7) calendar days of admission Conduct annual and significant-change nutritional assessments for the inpatient resident population Review and evaluate diet orders monthly for appropriateness and make recommendations as needed Monitor charts of all tube feeding residents on at least a monthly basis Monitor charts of diabetic residents on a weekly basis and recommend diet changes as needed Monitor charts of residents with decubitus ulcers monthly Make recommendations to facility physicians for diet changes based on lab values, including oral and tube-fed nutritional supplements Participate in treatment team meetings and weekly weight management meetings as requested Provide in-service education to Dietary Department and Nursing staff during normal business hours Make seasonal menu recommendations and assist with reviewing and approving menu changes Document all findings including ideal body weight ranges in the facility's electronic medical record at the time services are rendered Meet on-site with the Director of Dietary Services to coordinate therapeutic diet information, prioritize high-risk residents, and discuss performance improvement metrics What You Bring - Required Active, unrestricted Licensed Dietitian (LD) credential from the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (copy of license required prior to contract award) Bachelor's degree or higher from an ACEND-accredited dietetics program Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including a minimum of two (2) on-site days per week (8 hours each) Reliable transportation for required on-site days at the facility in Weston, WV Must be able to complete pre-placement requirements What You Bring - Preferred Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Two or more years of clinical dietitian experience in an inpatient hospital setting Experience in state psychiatric hospital, behavioral health, forensic psychiatric, or geriatric psychiatric settings Experience with enteral nutrition (tube feeding) management and diabetic nutrition counseling Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Joint Commission documentation standards Experience providing in-service education to dietary and nursing staff Experience with seasonal menu planning and therapeutic diet review About ShareSTAFF ShareSTAFF connects nursing and allied health professionals with travel and contract assignments at hospitals, state facilities, and healthcare organizations nationwide.
