We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized Inventory Specialist - Multi-Division Distribution to oversee inventory control, inventory system accuracy, and distribution logistics across multiple company divisions. Based out of the central Distribution Center, this position serves as a key operational partner responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, balancing stock levels, and coordinating the movement of raw materials, RTA cabinetry, custom components, and hardware from the Distribution Center to their final destinations. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with Distribution Center warehouse teams, division managers, purchasing teams, and other operational stakeholders to ensure inventory is accurately tracked, properly allocated, and available to support business needs. This position will also assist with demand forecasting, conduct inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and identify opportunities to improve inventory and distribution processes. This position will primarily be based at the Distribution Center but will require occasional travel to other company locations and business units to conduct inventory audits, validate inventory processes, support cycle counts, and assist with operational initiatives. A successful Inventory Specialist is analytical, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working between a computer-based environment and an active warehouse operation. The individual must be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and maintain the accuracy of the Inventory Management System/ERP across multiple divisions, ensuring accurate and timely visibility of inventory levels and movement. Coordinate the allocation and transfer of RTA cabinetry, raw materials, hardware, custom components, and other inventory from the Distribution Center based on the operational needs and timelines of each division. Lead cycle counts and physical inventory audits at the Distribution Center and other company locations as needed. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Analyze historical inventory usage and trends to support purchasing teams with demand forecasting and appropriate inventory levels. Audit receiving, picking, shipping, transfer, and other inventory movement processes to ensure accurate system transactions and data integrity. Verify incoming bulk shipments against purchase orders and document shortages, overages, damages, or incorrect specifications. Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and vendor partners to resolve inventory discrepancies and facilitate returns or corrective actions. Standardize inventory labeling, location mapping, kitting procedures, and fulfillment workflows to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Maintain accurate inventory records, reports, and documentation for management review. Serve as a primary liaison between Distribution Center warehouse staff, division managers, purchasing teams, and other operational stakeholders regarding inventory and distribution activities. Travel occasionally to other company locations and business units to conduct inventory audits, cycle counts, process reviews, training, and other inventory-related initiatives. Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to improve inventory accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround times. Perform other operational and administrative duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse distribution, supply chain management, or a related operational role. Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP platforms. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and inventory reporting. Demonstrated ability to manage inventory movement across multiple physical locations, departments, or business units. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to other company locations as required. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves) Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 5-10 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, warehouse distribution, or manufacturing operations. Experience within the cabinetry, building materials, manufacturing, distribution, or homebuilding industry. Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software. APICS/ASCM certification, such as CPIM or CSCP. Experience supporting multiple locations, divisions, or business units. Experience with inventory forecasting, purchasing support, and inventory optimization. Experience developing or improving inventory control procedures and standard operating procedures. Experience conducting physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations. Ability to work between a desk/computer-based environment and an active warehouse floor. Frequent walking and standing while conducting inventory counts, audits, and physical inventory verification. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and navigate warehouse aisles and storage areas. Ability to lift and carry inventory samples, boxes, or materials as needed, generally up to 50 pounds. Ability to work safely around standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and order pickers. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communication. Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations and business units. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Combination of office, computer-based, and active warehouse environments. Regular interaction with Distribution Center warehouse personnel, division managers, purchasing teams, vendors, and other operational stakeholders. Exposure to standard warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, forklifts, order pickers, inventory storage areas, and varying temperatures.
