Staff Accountant II

Position Summary The Staff Accountant II is responsible for the preparation of various reports, schedules, and presentations necessary to assist in the completion of Management and Board reports, as well as reports required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The incumbent is also responsible for various accounting related tasks. Essential Functions SEC Reporting Update quarterly financial package. Assist in preparation of required SEC filings (quarterly 10-Q's, 8-K's and Annual Report). Set up SEC filings in filing software. Coordinate preparation of the Annual Shareholders' Meeting presentation and other investor presentations. Annual Proxy preparation. Stock Option Accounting Process grants, exercises, and forfeitures. Post stock option related journal entries. Liaison to the Registrar & Transfer agent. Month-end Closing Process Review expense trending reports and general ledgers for fluctuations, accrual adjustments and unusual items. Prepare reconciliations for accounts as assigned. Calculate and post monthly tax provision. Subsidiary review and preparation of financials. Prepare reports to be distributed to management, the Board of Directors, and various committees of the Board of Directors. Prepare and distribute budget vs. actual reports. Maintain executive retirement plans and bank owned life insurance. Additional Functions Perform other general accounting functions, assisting or acting as a backup including, but not limited to, the following: Coordinate tax payments for Bank and subsidiaries. Assist in training new and seasonal department employees. Provide backup for Staff Accountant I responsibilities Distribute weekly financials to executive management. Assist with preparation of annual budget. Perform general ledger maintenance. Loan accounting. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements and Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required. Minimum 2 years accounting experience.
