Our Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit is a fast‐paced, highly collaborative environment where teamwork, clinical excellence, and compassion come together. Nurses in this unit work alongside passionate, experienced, and cross‐trained colleagues who are dedicated to creating a seamless and supportive delivery experience for both mother and baby. If you're ready to contribute to strategic planning, drive departmental goals, and lead with empathy in a fast-paced environment, we invite you to make a meaningful impact where every connection truly counts. #IND2**Primary Department, Division, or Unit:**Delivery Room, UHS Wilson Medical Center**Primary Work Shift:**Multiple shifts available**Compensation Range:**$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience**You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.**-----Responsibilities:* Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.* Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.* Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.* Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.* Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.* Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.* Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.* Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.* Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.* Will follow all United Health Services Values* Will perform other duties as assigned.**Education/Experience**Minimum Required:* A graduate of an accredited school of NursingPreferred:* Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing* Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting**License/Certification**Minimum Required:* Current NYS RN LicensePreferred:* Professional certification in a related nursing specialty* Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.-----# **Why You’ll Love Working at UHS**At United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
