Staff Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery

Position Overview United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery to join the team at UHS Wilson Medical Center. This role offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000 and is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment that focuses on exceptional, patient‑centered care during life’s most meaningful moments. Work Schedule & Compensation Shift options include 24‑hour day or night rotations, 30‑hour day or night rotations, and a 36‑hour night rotation. All shifts are 12‑hour and include every third weekend. Compensation ranges from $40.70 to $61.05 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits are available for regular positions with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as primary or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment. Educates patients and families on health promotion and disease management. Administers medications safely in accordance with UHS policy. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Participates in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council meetings, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices. Engages in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Follows UHS Values and performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Minimum: Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; previous acute care or ambulatory clinical experience. License & Certification Current New York State RN License. Preferred: Professional certification in a related specialty (ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
