Underwriting Support Associate

This role will be filled in Windsor, CT and will follow the Sentry Hybrid work model schedule.

In this position, you will support the commercial lines (CL) underwriting processes by handling a variety of transactions and policy changes. This will support the review and acceptance/decline of new or renewal CL business with a degree of specialization and/or across multiple lines of business. Partnering with underwriters and sales producers, you will compile and/or shares policy and coverage information for assigned business and customers. They will also ensure proper documentation and record management according to regulatory and Sentry standards.


What You'll Do
• Ensure sufficient information is obtained and forwarded to the underwriter for proper risk evaluation
• Using manuals, established procedures, and collected information, prepare the underwriting file for the underwriter by completing loss summaries, reviewing driver acceptability, following up to obtaining missing information and other related tasks
• Process policy change requests within knowledge and authority levels allowing the underwriters to focus on more complex policies and accounts
• Collaborate with other business areas to ensure service and quality objectives are met
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with underwriters, sales agents and brokers
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality requirements as required by legislation
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time

What it Takes
• Associates degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
• Insurance courses related to property and casualty insurance beneficial
• Effective communication, analytical, and mathematical skills

For qualified associates in Connecticut, the salary range for this role is $49,060 - $73,700.
