As a Tax Manager, you'll lead the company's tax function and provide expertise across tax compliance, reporting, planning, and process improvement. You'll partner with Accounting, Finance, Project Accounting, Operations, and external tax advisors to ensure tax requirements are met and tax-related processes are consistent and effective across the business.ResponsibilitiesLead the tax function, including processes, priorities, standards, and federal, state, and local tax complianceManage tax return preparation, review, filing, payments, documentation, notices, audits, and related requestsServe as the internal subject matter expert for income, sales and use, property, franchise, and other transaction-based taxesPartner with external tax advisors and internal teams to support tax compliance, planning, reporting, and risk managementDevelop tax guidelines, decision frameworks, and tools to promote consistency across jurisdictions and business activitiesMonitor tax laws, regulations, and nexus requirements and recommend needed process or reporting changesPartner with Accounting, Finance, Project Accounting, AP, Supply Chain, Estimating, Payroll, and Operations to ensure accurate tax processes and dataSupport tax accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and process improvementsIdentify opportunities to improve tax systems, automation, reporting, and document managementProvide tax guidance and training to internal teams and direction to Tax Specialists, Analysts, and other tax team membersKnowledge & ExpertiseBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field5–7 years of related tax experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax requirementsExperience with income, sales and use, property, and other transaction-based taxesStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with internal teams and external tax advisorsExperience with tax audits, compliance, and process improvement preferredExperience with tax systems, automation, or reporting tools preferredCPA certification preferredLocationSioux Falls, SD; Sioux Center, IA; or Omaha, NE are preferred locations. Candidate must be located near an Interstates office.TravelLess than 10% travel is expected.
