Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 Nights per Week | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend OR Sunday–Tuesday

Pay Rate: Traveler: $78.00–$82.00/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT examinations, operate imaging equipment, and produce high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and radiation protection standards.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA)-accredited Radiography Program.

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

• Valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Control.

• Certification from an accredited CT program or current CT registration with ARRT.

• Three years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist OR one year of current CT Tech experience within the last five years.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Knowledge of CT scanning procedures, radiation protection, patient positioning, and imaging equipment.

• Ability to evaluate image quality and follow infection control and patient safety protocols.

• Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and independent decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians.

• Operate CT scanners, control consoles, peripheral hardware, and related imaging equipment.

• Select appropriate imaging techniques and exposure factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

• Prepare, maintain, calibrate, and adjust imaging equipment as necessary.

• Position patients and use immobilization devices to obtain optimal images.

• Review radiology requests and verify patient identification and examination details.

• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and help reduce anxiety before and during examinations.

• Address patients’ physical and psychological needs while ensuring their safety and comfort.

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient monitoring and treatment during procedures.

• Record and maintain accurate imaging data and radiology documentation.

• Apply radiation protection principles, including beam restriction and patient shielding, to minimize exposure.

• Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure examinations meet departmental standards.

• Assist with contrast media administration when appropriately trained and authorized.

• Coordinate workflow to support timely and efficient completion of imaging procedures.

• Follow hospital policies, infection control standards, quality assurance procedures, and radiation safety regulations.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional relationships with patients, physicians, colleagues, and visitors.

• Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain required credentials.

• Follow hospital fire, emergency, and disaster procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
