About the Position: CRG is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant for a Fortune 500 company in Mobile, AL. In this position you will have the opportunity to own sales & use tax compliance functions, while partnering with corporate and field operations teams. You'll also gain visibility across departments, laying the foundation for upward mobility within this nationally recognized finance team.

Opportunity: Direct-Hire
Location: Mobile, AL (Hybrid)
Hybrid Schedule:

• 2 days onsite, 3 days remote each week
• 1 week per month fully remote

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns across multiple states, using detailed financial analysis to support accurate filings.
• Reconcile sales and use tax general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Identify and resolve tax-related variances, partnering with internal teams as needed.
• Prepare and file sales tax registrations, renewals, and permit cancellations in applicable jurisdictions.
• Respond to internal tax queries and provide guidance informed by current state and local regulations.
• Keep compliance workpapers, procedures, exemption certificates, and related tools accurate and up to date.
• Support process improvements that improve efficiency and reduce risk, with guidance from a supervisor.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and help ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications:
Required

• Bachelor's degree
• Multi-state sales and use tax compliance experience
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage large volumes of electronic data
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax
• CPA or CMI designation (or actively pursuing)
• SOX exposure and/or public accounting tax experience
• Proficiency with Vertex or Alteryx
• Sales and use tax experience within foodservice, vending, or support services
