Demand Planner

Department: Supply Chain Reports To: Associate Director, Supply Chain FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Garland, TX Overview The Demand Planning Specialist supports the demand forecasting and SIOP processes through forecast maintenance, statistical analysis, performance tracking, and cross‑functional coordination. This role assists in generating baseline forecasts and tracking accuracy. Responsibilities Maintain rolling demand forecast files and update statistical baseline projections Generate and maintain statistical forecast models Analyze historical sales trends, seasonality, and demand variability Collect and reconcile forecast inputs from Sales and cross‑functional teams Track and report forecast accuracy metrics (MAPE, bias, variance) Identify forecast variances and perform structured root cause analysis Maintain forecast parameters and master data within planning systems Update ABC/XYZ classifications and relevant planning attributes Prepare demand review analytics and materials for monthly SIOP meetings Support development of forecast performance metrics and dashboards Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and reporting visibility Supervisory Responsibilities None Competencies Adaptability – adapts to changes, manages competing demands, and responds to unexpected events Attention to Detail – demonstrates thoroughness, monitors details, and ensures quality Business Ethics – treats people with respect, upholds integrity, and inspires trust Communications – expresses ideas verbally and in writing, listens, and informs others appropriately Cooperation – establishes effective relationships, offers assistance, and resolves conflicts Customer Focus – identifies and prioritizes customer needs, responds promptly, and seeks solutions Dependability – follows instructions, meets commitments, and works towards goals Problem Solving – identifies and resolves problems, gathers information, develops solutions, and uses reason Professionalism – presents a professional appearance, maintains positive relationships, and exhibits a pleasant attitude Quality – demonstrates accuracy, seeks improvement, and monitors work for quality Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field; Supply Chain Management degree strongly preferred 1–2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics Demonstrated experience with statistical forecasting methods and forecast accuracy improvement Excellent problem‑solving and data‑analytical skills Strong communication skills and ability to promote a team atmosphere Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Power Query, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, and macros), Access, PowerPoint, and Word Knowledge of inventory planning, performance metrics, demand planning, and product life cycle strongly preferred Certificates/Licenses/Registrations None WORK ENVIRONMENT This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers. Light to moderate lifting is required. Close vision is necessary.
