Project Coordinator

TPD is partnering with a well-established telecommunications services provider to hire a Project Coordinator to support ongoing telecom construction and maintenance operations in the Austin region.

About the Role

This role supports a client-facing Project Manager and coordinates regional field resources across telecom projects. You’ll play a key role in ensuring technicians are prepared, materials are ordered, schedules are aligned, and project updates are accurately tracked.

You’ll balance operational coordination with cost tracking and reporting to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate telecom maintenance and construction projects from kickoff to closeout

• Order materials and ensure field technicians receive required documentation before job start

• Schedule and track regional resources

• Manage project logs, CRM updates, and Excel trackers with real-time status updates

• Lead weekly update calls with internal teams and client stakeholders

• Prepare daily WIP reports and training summaries

• Support cost tracking for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment

• Assist with forecasting and project performance metrics (CPI, SPI, EAC)

• Support change management processes and ensure accurate billing documentation

• Collaborate closely with field managers to ensure job readiness and timely completion

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in construction project coordination or project controls

• Telecommunications experience strongly preferred but not required  (Comcast, Verizon, or similar providers highly valued)

• Fiber knowledge is an asset, but strong project coordination experience can compensate

• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, IF statements required)

• Familiarity with performance metrics (CPI, SPI, EAC)

• Experience with tools such as Smart Sheets (or strong general systems aptitude)

• Strong leadership presence — comfortable driving communication across teams

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable

• Quick learner with a strong work ethic and desire to grow
