Location : Phoenix, Arizona
Job Summary
Seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to support the design, development, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems. The role involves PLC/HMI programming, SCADA development, system integration, electrical design, and troubleshooting of manufacturing automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design control system architecture, electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for manufacturing and process automation systems.
- Support installation, commissioning, start-up, validation (IQ/OQ), and troubleshooting of new and existing equipment.
- Integrate automation systems and provide ongoing operational support to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.
Engineering & Project Support
- Prepare technical documentation including cable schedules, device/tag lists, design basis documents, and user requirement documents (URD).
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, vendor documentation, and project deliverables.
- Perform safety reviews, validation activities, and compliance checks for new equipment installations.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, vendors, and operations teams to deliver automation projects successfully.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Control Systems Engineering.
- Experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, and system integration projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, control systems, and industrial automation standards.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, process, or plant automation environments.
Required Technical Skills
- PLC Programming Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, Connected Components Workbench
- HMI & SCADA FactoryTalk View ME/SE, Wonderware, ArchestrA
- Rockwell Automation Platforms ControlLogix, GuardLogix, CompactLogix, PanelView Plus
- Industrial Networking, System Integration, and Automation Troubleshooting
Preferred Experience
- FactoryTalk Batch (FT Batch)
- PlantPAx, PackML, PackTags, UPack, and OPERA standards
- PowerFlex Drives (4, 520, 750 Series)
- Compliance with NEC, NFPA 79, OSHA, ISA-88, and PackML standards
