Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/01/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) Facility: University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Location: Bel Air, Maryland Start Date: 06/01/2026 Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Schedule: Every Other Weekend Required Position Overview: The Labor & Delivery RN will provide comprehensive care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients in a fast-paced LDRP unit with a Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery. The nurse will manage laboring patients, assist during deliveries and C-sections, provide postpartum and newborn care, and support maternal-fetal health throughout the continuum of care. Requirements: /t - Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required /t - First-time travelers accepted /t - Active Maryland RN License or Compact License required at submission /t - BLS and NRP required /t - ACLS, STABLE, FHM, and AWHONN certifications preferred /t - Experience with Epic charting preferred /t - Must be comfortable floating within specialty/sister units as needed Clinical Experience Required: /t - Labor & delivery management /t - High-risk deliveries and emergency situations /t - Circulating for C-sections /t - Recovery of C-section patients /t - Vaginal delivery assistance /t - Fetal monitoring interpretation /t - Neonatal resuscitation and newborn care /t - Postpartum care including hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia management /t - IV therapy, infusion pumps, blood administration, and medication drips Unit Details: /t - LDRP unit with Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery /t - 14 LDRP rooms /t - 9 overflow beds for postpartum, antepartum, NAS, and bili baby patients /t - 2 triage beds /t - 2 antenatal testing bays /t - 2 ORs and 2 PACU bays /t - Approximately 105 deliveries per month Patient Ratios: /t - Early labor/induction: 1:2 /t - Active labor: 1:1 /t - C-Section: 1:1 /t - Triage: 1:4 /t - Postpartum: 1:4 Additional Information: /t - Navy blue scrubs required /t - Floating may be required within specialty and sister units /t - No on-call requirement /t - Holiday coverage required as scheduled /t - Flu vaccine required /t - Travelers must reside 50 miles from the facility HonorVet Technologies Job ID #32300873.
