Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

This role is based in an outpatient clinic specializing in Hematology and Oncology care. As a physician, you will manage a patient load of 15-20 adult patients per day, focusing on hematology and oncology outpatient care. You will also participate in tumor board meetings, contributing to comprehensive patient management and treatment planning. The practice previously operated with two physicians and a Nurse Practitioner, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient care.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The assignment involves outpatient clinic coverage three days a week with the option for additional call responsibilities if desired. The clinic operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a predictable schedule that allows for a work-life balance. While the position is locum-based, there is potential for ongoing engagement as recruitment for a full-time physician continues.

Support and Work Environment

Join a supportive team environment where you will work alongside experienced Oncology RNs, Medical Assistants, a Social Worker, Dietitian, and a Nurse Navigator. The practice is equipped with a state-of-the-art Infusion Center and facilities for onsite CBCs, enhancing your ability to deliver comprehensive patient care. The clinic utilizes the Cerner EMR system, streamlining documentation and patient management processes.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology, with consideration for Board Eligible candidates.
• Active Michigan medical license required, with BLS/ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hematology/Oncology outpatient care.
• Familiarity with the Cerner EMR system is preferred.
