Maintenance Technician I

Entry-level technician responsible for assisting with basic maintenance tasks while learning mechanical systems and maintenance proceduresCat-i Glass participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility after hire.Essential Job Functions:Assist senior technicians with equipment repairs and maintenancePerform basic maintenance tasks and inspectionsUse hand tools and basic measuring tools such as tape measures and calipersMaintain clean and organized maintenance work areasFollow written and verbal work instructionsReport equipment problems to maintenance leadershipAbility to read, update, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Accurately document maintenance activities, parts used, and downtime causes.Follow digital preventive maintenance schedules and ensure work orders are completed properly.Comply with OSHA safety standards applicable to maintenance work.Use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other equipment as required.Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing or repairing equipment.Report safety hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.Skills and/or Competencies:Basic mechanical aptitudeAbility to follow instructionsBasic math and measurement skillsReliable attendance and work ethicEducation/Experience:Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in manufacturingTechnical school or mechanical trainingExperience working in manufacturing or industrial environmentsWelding experience a plusPhysical Demands and Working Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
