Legal Billing Coordinator

The Billing Coordinator supports the Firm's Finance operations by preparing, editing, and submitting monthly pre‑bills and invoices while collaborating with attorneys, legal staff, and finance team members. This hybrid Los Angeles‑based Billing Coordinator role requires strong electronic billing skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage complex billing arrangements under tight deadlines. Reporting to the Financial Operations Director, the Billing Coordinator ensures compliance with client billing requirements, maintains reports, and resolves billing inquiries. The ideal Billing Coordinator is proactive, detail‑oriented, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment. Billing Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Requirements Generate, edit, finalize, and submit legal invoices as the Billing Coordinator. Perform client billing, collections, and monitor aging reports for assigned partners/clients. Interpret engagement letters and complex contracts to apply correct billing structures. Use Aderant Classic (required) and support complex or client‑driven billing formats. Prepare billing reports, reconciliations, schedules, and apply retainers or process write‑offs. Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and finance team members to resolve billing issues. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or equivalent experience is required.
