President And CEO

The client is seeking an engaging, diplomatic leader to serve as President and CEO. The role leads the organization responsible for promoting and managing the region as a year-round destination for leisure travel, conventions, and sporting events. The organization operates as a destination marketing organization focused on inspiring travel through coordinated marketing and community partnership efforts. The President and CEO directs and leads the organization toward its mission, working directly with the Board to develop policy and strategy. As the primary spokesperson, the role represents the organization to external audiences and partners. Leadership responsibilities typically include overseeing major functional areas such as convention and sports initiatives, finance and administration, convention sales, membership, visitor services, and marketing and travel media, with direct reports generally made up of top department heads. The organization is an active community leader formed in 1957, with a large base of member businesses and organizations. The President and CEO will help drive targeted marketing campaigns, public and media relations, and the attraction and servicing of conventions and sporting events, working collaboratively to support economic growth while enhancing residents’ quality of life.
