Job Description
Registered Nurse - Birthing Care Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

The Birthing Care Unit is a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The unit handles over 300 births per month, and the RN will be responsible for providing care for obstetrical patients, including those in high-risk antepartum and postpartum stages. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and experienced in managing double labor assignments on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care.
• Circulate for Cesarean births and support labor and delivery processes.
• Monitor and assess the health and status of patients during labor and delivery.
• Conduct antenatal fetal surveillance, medication administration, and intravenous hydration.
• Participate in obstetrical triage and care for high-risk patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume labor and delivery setting; 3 years preferred.
• Experience with >300 births per month required.
• Current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications.
• Competency in circulating for C-sections and immediate newborn care.
