They foster passion for sporting and fashion goods, meet customer needs, and ensure all areas of the store are engaged. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of the retail store performance, including achieving key results, creating a fun and inclusive environment for their team, and delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Act as Manager on duty for scheduling and customer complaint matters when the Store Manager is absent. Manage store associates through training programs, goal setting, and follow‑up. Administer progressive discipline steps including verbal and written warnings. Engage team members in a fun, productive environment that supports company objectives. Establish supportive working relationships and uphold Lids Brand Standards. Schedule and staff the store, calling in associates during unexpected peaks. Assist in recruiting and training new store personnel on proper operations. Maintain compliance with company policies, including safekeeping of inventory and funds. Contribute to a respectful, inclusive team environment. Other duties as assigned. Customer Experience Lead and execute sales strategies to achieve KPIs and sales targets. Resolve customer feedback in the moment, addressing escalations promptly. Encourage participation in membership programs during live interactions. Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines and store cleanliness standards. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the Company Dress Code Policy. Operations Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives. Follow the Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain a safe environment. Maintain store technology and equipment, conducting daily audits and ordering repairs. Manage store facilities, supplies, and service requests. Accurately manage cash operations, including opening/closing the till, bank drops, and counterfeit protection. Prepare the store for inventory audits and support audit activities. Open and close the store following the Operations P&P Manual. Product & Inventory Management Protect company assets in accordance with Lids Retail policies. Assist in preparing store work schedules within wage control guidelines. Accurately manage inventory, including receiving, transferring, and product counts. Organize the backroom to maximize efficiency. Execute optimal layout and visual merchandising strategies. Maintain the look and feel of the store through day‑to‑day VM and store actions. Adjust pricing signage and promotional presentations during operating hours.
