Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing diagnoses such as acute kidney injury, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, altered mental status, and a variety of infections
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as mandatory competencies
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and utilize Rapid Response Teams as clinically indicated
• Manage peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and various oxygen delivery methods including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including SCD pumps, Bear Hugger, wound vac, and tube feeding pumps
• Adhere to isolation precautions and float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility demands

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (hard requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with wound vac, tube feeding pumps, and other specialized equipment listed above
• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, COVID-19, or complex infectious diagnoses
