PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit team. This position involves providing excellent care to patients recovering from anesthesia, with a focus on pediatric patients.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 15
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2 (1:1 for pediatric or higher acuity patients)
• Common Cases: Mixed cases including pediatric patients with disabilities

Responsibilities

• Recover patients from anesthesia, including pediatric patients
• Provide compassionate and sensitive care to all patients
• Participate in patient care planning and execution
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in PACU or similar clinical setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• EMR System: Familiarity with EPIC is preferred
• Experience with ICU patients recovering in PACU is a plus
• Ability to read cardiac strips

Shift and Scheduling

• Mixed shifts of 8 and 12 hours
• Shifts include: 0730-1600, 0800-1630, 0830-1700, 0830-2100, and on-call from 0630 to 2100
• On-call requirements: 1-2 nights per 6-week schedule
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Typical call response time is 30 minutes
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options may be available
