Special Procedures Technician

Job DetailsShift: Full Time - Mon - Fri: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMProvides direct patient care, ensures high quality patient care from self, and conducts self in a professional and respectful manner with all others at all times leading by example while making good use of time to meet the business need for SGHS.Ability to perform accurate total body Special Procedures according to protocol as ordered by a qualified medical provider and will consult with Radiologists for any contraindications in the best interest of the patient.Ensure patient satisfaction by being compassionate in explaining the procedure to the patient and answer questions so he/she understands what to expect before and after the procedure.Responsible for contacting the ordering provider to obtain new orders in the event of an error/discrepancy to avoid delays in patient care.Responsible for the safe operation of radiology equipment, power injector for contrast administration, and any other equipment/positioning aids utilized to complete invasive procedures safely and successfully.Responsible for obtaining accurate medical histories, completing safety documents & consents with signatures, and ensuring accuracy of Special Procedure orders correlating with medical history, anatomy, and indications depicting medical necessity.Complies with all regulatory standards pertaining to radiation safety/protection including contrast media utilization and patient privacy (HIPAA).
