Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing complex commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems while leading installation projects and delivering high-quality field service to a variety of onsite clients. You will combine strong mechanical aptitude with excellent organization and communication skills to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable climate control solutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of climate control chillers, boilers, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Work on VRF systems, VAV boxes, split systems, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), make-up air units (MHUs), building automation system (BAS) controls, and other commercial HVAC systems.
• Lead teams through commercial HVAC installations of varying sizes and complexity, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to high quality standards.
• Safely utilize tools, equipment, and vehicles by following all appropriate protocols and procedures.
• Keep accurate records of service visits, maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment installations.
• Maintain truck stock and inventory in line with company guidelines to ensure readiness for field service calls.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and reliable service.
• Participate in client meetings as needed to discuss system performance, upcoming work, and technical recommendations.
• Utilize mobile technology for efficient communication, documentation, and real-time reporting from the field.
• Actively interface with a work order management system to receive assignments, update job status, and close out work orders.
• Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems and controls.
• Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned to support the service team and clients.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail.
• High level of organization and ability to self-manage tasks to a high standard.
• 7+ years of HVAC experience in a field service or similar environment.
• 7+ years of chiller experience working with commercial climate control systems.
• 3+ years of boiler experience in installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Hands-on experience with VRF systems, VAV boxes, split systems, cooling towers, AHUs, MHUs, BAS controls, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
• Field service experience, including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
• Strong electrical skills related to HVAC systems and controls.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing Daikin and other commercial HVAC equipment.
• Ability to lead and guide a team during commercial HVAC installations.
• Comfort using mobile technology for communication and real-time reporting.
• Ability to work within and update a work order management system.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hydronic systems and associated components.
• Solid troubleshooting skills for complex HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
• Experience performing installation and preventive maintenance on a range of HVAC systems.
• Pipe welding experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills for participating in client meetings and coordinating with team members.
• Commitment to staying current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC.

Work Environment

This is a traveling service role that involves regular visits to client sites, where you will interface directly with onsite personnel in commercial environments. You will work primarily in the field rather than in an office, using a company vehicle to travel between locations. The role requires comfort with varying facility conditions, adherence to safety protocols, and professional presentation while working directly with clients and their teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharonville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Sharonville,OH.
