Staff Nurse II - ACTAT-EP Heart- TMC

Position Overview The ACTAT‑EP Heart team at our Texas Medical Center location is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse II to support a highly specialized outpatient cardiology practice focused on advanced cardiac and electrophysiology care. This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, providing an excellent work–life balance while delivering high‑quality patient care and a patient‑centered focus. Key Responsibilities Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care for patients with complex cardiac conditions. Conduct patient assessment, care coordination, and clinical support for procedures and diagnostics, including assisting with CT scanner workflows and ensuring patients receive clear instructions. Provide patient education and collaborate across the care team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centered outcomes. Perform focused and comprehensive assessments, document nursing plans, and prioritize nursing care using critical thinking and judgment. Implement plans of care within scope of practice, delegate and monitor staff, initiate standing orders for prescription refills, labs, and standing delegation orders. Communicate effectively with the collaborative team, escalating critical results and issues in a timely manner; coordinate referrals to agencies or other health‑care professionals as indicated. Perform onsite and telephone triage using best practice guidelines and documentation to ensure patients receive the right level of care at the right time. Act as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services; maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Adhere to standards of practice for professional nursing and act as a clinical and leadership resource for team members. Develop and implement teaching plans concerning health maintenance, promotion, and restoration; evaluate patient responses and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by AHA preferred. Typical office and clinic equipment proficiency. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with one year nursing experience; Associate’s Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three years nursing experience; or Nursing Diploma (3‑year program) with two years nursing experience. Physical requirements: ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
