Project Engineer

Overview BKF Engineers is hiring a Project Engineer to join our Bay Area Offices. We seek individuals with strong technical abilities and experience in land development project design who can independently apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using their experience and judgment. The role includes planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of technical work in small to major projects, assisting senior engineers and project managers with project status for clients and internal reporting, and supervising/ coordinating the team of engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments. Responsibilities Project Design for Site Development Grading and Drainage Plans Utility Systems for Water and Sewer Report Preparation and Master Planning Studies Preparation of specifications and cost estimates Roadway/Street final design package - Plan, Profile, Cross Sections Roadway Design: Streetscape, Green Streets, Bicycle Path Plans Adherence to Federal, State, City and County Standards Report Preparation and Conceptual Studies Preparation of Specifications and Quantity Takeoffs/Cost Estimates Projects include residential, commercial, mixed-use and public works projects Requirements 3+ years of experience in site development and design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public works B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent EIT/ FE certification preferred Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus Strong communication skills Physical Demands Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations. Work Conditions Exposure to office-like sounds and a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required. Benefits The anticipated base salary range for this position is $99,500.00 - $135,740.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
